Will Smith Says He Wanted to Date “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Star, Karyn Parsons, But She Wasn’t Interested

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is regarded as one of the best TV sitcoms of all-time, as well as a classic Will Smith project. A year ago, the cast members celebrated the 30th anniversary of the show, as that was aired on HBO Max. Will Smith even squashed his beef with fellow co-host Janet Hubert. There was also a beautiful tribute to the late James Avery, who played the role of Uncle Phil.

Smith has also been promoting his new memoir, “Will,” as he’s been revealing some interesting facts, from over the years. He dived deep into his relationship with his wife, Jada Pinkett, and even other news, about his previous dating life.

In an excerpt, Smith revealed that at one point, he was interested in Karyn Parsons. Parsons appeared in Fresh Prince as well, as she played the role of Hillary Banks, Smith’s cousin. Despite Smith’s interest, the feeling wasn’t very mutual, on Parsons’ end.

“She was smart enough to tell me ‘hell no’ when I tried to explain we were not really cousins, so it would be fine if we dated,” Smith wrote. “[I said], ‘I swear it won’t mess up our working relationship.’ She knew better than that – good call, K.P.”

In the end, Jada Pinkett is who Smith ultimately found happiness with, despite the unusual details that the two have revealed in their relationship, over the last two years. They’ve been married since December 1997.
