Woman inside home Pop Smoke was targeted in speaks out again

Back in February 2020, hip-hop lost one of its biggest rising stars, in Pop Smoke. At the time, the 20-year-old Brooklyn rapper was on fire, with his music. Pop released his “Meet The Woo” mixtape, which contained the breakout hit single, “Dior.”

10 days before Pop’s death, he put out the Meet The Woo sequel, which contained 16 songs, including hits such as “War” featuring Lil Tjay and “Shake The Room” featuring Quavo. He also worked with Fivio Foreign, PnB Rock, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Gunna, and more, on that project.

However, the early hours of February 2020, Pop was shot and killed in a home invasion. Four suspects entered his Hollywood Hills Airbnb, as Pop was attacked, while getting out of the shower. This occurred around 4:30am. The shooter is said to have been a 15-year-old, as he and two other suspects were arrested, that summer. That 15-year-old was instructed to hit Pop with a vase instead of shooting him, but that wasn’t the case.

Pop’s murder is also now being highlighted in the “Hip-Hop Homicides” documentary series on WeTV, with Van Lathan. Lathan spoke with Amelia Rose, a woman who was present in the home, at the time of the shooting. She had previously opened up about the trauma she sustained, as dived deep into that night, once again.

“Pop said he was going to upstairs. I’m sitting on the bed, and I’m starting to take off my clothes, and he said, ‘Okay, I will come back.’ He was going to restroom. This is his last words. And I hear some noise. The guy was in the mask and his gun was like, looking at me. His eyes make me so scared. They run to the restroom. Pop screamed, ‘What?!’”
