Getting better with time is what most believe, which is why art and music is not appreciated more until years, sometimes decades, later. No one ever questioned the talent of Wyclef Jean and he made a large number of hits. But, Wyclef Jean came out during a musical peak alongside many other major names.
Wyclef Jean was the leader of The Fugees and the group racked up a number of hits during their run. Frequently overlooked now, Wyclef Jean was instrumental in the rise of both Beyonce and Destiny’s Child. Taking some time away from the game, the hip hop world realized how much they missed him and his comeback has been well-documented.
Starting with his April Showers mixtape, which features contribution from such newcomers as Choppa Zoe, among others. Recently, Wyclef Jean stopped by Shade 45 to talk to Sway Calloway for “Sway in the Morning.” In this interview, Wyclef Jean freestyled and spoke on his past with The Fugees and Lauryn Hill.
