Lines are often blurred in rap about the artists doing the things they talk about. Authenticity is often questioned, but then when life imitates art, such as the deaths of Bankroll Fresh and Chinx, a call for violence to cease begins. Truth be told, there should be more peace in hip hop.
Authenticity should come a distant second, as artists hold a responsibility to keep their fans safe, first and foremost. Another incident could have easily turned deadly with two Atlanta artists. This weekend, YFN Lucci and Johnny Cinco performed in Little Rock.
On stage, YFN Lucci and Johnny Cinco were targeted by a fan who wanted to snatch chains. Not having any of that, the Atlanta rappers quickly began firing off shots and the show was over. One fan managed to catch the whole altercation on camera.
