YNW Melly’s double murder case receives mistrial

YNW Melly double murder trial results in mistrial

YMW Melly has been incarcerated since 2019, due to a double murder case. That is as a result of the Broward County, FL rapper and his friend YNW Bortlen being accused of shooting and killing their friends Christopher “Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “Sakchaser” Williams, back in October 2018. Therefore, it was believed that Melly and Bortlen staged the scene to look like a drive-by.

However, Melly’s double murder trial reached a very surprising point on Saturday. A mistrial was announced, due to not reaching a unanimous decision. This comes even after investigators in the case used forensic evidence to state Melly and Bortlen shot Thomas and Williams in the back of a Jeep Compass.

Deliberations initially began on Thursday, in a Broward County court room. With the mistrial being announced, it is still unclear whether or not Melly will be freed from prison.

Melly initially spared to stardom in 2018. This was due to projects such as “I Am You” in 2018, as well as “We All Shine.” several months before being incarcerated. I Am You contained the breakout single, “Murder On My Mind.”
