Yo Gotti talks drug dealer past, street life, and bringing jobs to Memphis with Peter Bailey [VIDEO]
Last year, Yo Gotti had a breakout year with his I Am album closing out a career year for him. Previously, Yo Gotti reached a major label deal and released a new album, but he left this deal and set up shop with Epic Records. During the summer of 2013, he scored a major hit with “Act Right” featuring Young Jeezy and YG.
Yo Gotti is currently having success with his “Cold Blood” single with J. Cole. The single is about a young man who had a tough break in life and reacted the negative way to get out. Many of Yo Gotti’s songs are telling the tale of a life coming up as a drug dealer in Memphis.
Recently, Yo Gotti retold this story to Peter Bailey for NBC’s “NiteCap.” This time, however, there was no music to go along with it. Instead, Yo Gotti talked about his history as a drug dealer and how he did much of his work in the streets, compared to him now doing music and wanting to use his money to bring jobs to Memphis to rejuvenate the economy.
