A popular rapper takes a moment to reveal the importance of good health. Young Dro emerges from the shadows, revealing a remarkable transformation. After battling addiction throughout his career, he now stands 17 months sober. In a recent interview with Essence, he shares his resilient journey towards personal growth.

Young Dro was a name that created a major buzz during the early 2000’s. After releasing projects independently, he signed with T.I. in 2004 under his label Grand Hustle and Atlantic Records. Shortly after,  his debut studio album Best Thang Smoking hit the airwaves. A leading single “Shoulder Lean” featuring T.I. dominated the Billboard 100 Charts. Despite his success, Young Dro quickly vanished from the spotlight following his second album High Times in 2013.

 

 

Now more determined than ever, Young Dro is ready to take full control of his life. Last year, He took the stage at the Amazon Music City Sessions: 50 & Forever concert, his first major performance in years. As Dro approaches his two-year sober mark, he remains focused on bettering his life. In the interview he also elaborates on the importance of “taking social media breaks” and encouraging others to “seek therapy..”
