Yesterday afternoon, Cory Gunz ran into trouble, as he was arrested in the Bronx for having a loaded firearm in his possession. A year ago, Cory Gunz was riding high, as his feature on “6 Foot 7 Foot” with Lil Wayne had become one of hip hop’s most-popular verses. Following the success of the single, MTV broadcasted a documentary series following Cory Gunz as he made deals.

Cory Gunz’ father, Peter Gunz, recently discussed their former star’s arrest. Peter Gunz said he can confirm his son was arrested with a firearm around 2:00 in the Bronx. Cory Gunz was caught with the loaded gun in his knapsack, but Peter Gunz said it was an illegal search. Telling MTV he spoke with the officer who arrested Cory Gunz, Peter said the officer said he was informed he should “look out” for Cory Gunz.

There were several kids around him, but the officer said he did not know it was Cory Gunz. One positive thing Peter Gunz said about the situation was the officer was cool. After arresting Cory, he felt bad, so he talked with him. Going into the police station to see Cory in handcuffs was hard for Peter Gunz, as he said it is heartbreaking, but he is glad it was his first offense. Now he hopes Cory has learned from his mistakes.
