Early last year, Young Thug managed to break through the mixtape level and gain hip hop stardom. During the early stages of this rise, Birdman gave him a major boost. Young Thug stayed so close to him that many thought he signed with Cash Money Records.
In the end, Young Thug was signed to 300 Entertainment, the label ran by Kevin Liles and Lyor Cohen. These are the same executives that oversaw Def Jam during Jay Z’s 1996-2003 run. Safe to say, they have aided Young Thug in his successful run.
Apparently, Young Thug was supposed to take part in the Million Man March twentieth anniversary march in Washington, DC, over the weekend. Young Thug did not attend this event and he put a video on Instagram, apologizing to Louis Farrakhan about not attending.
