Young Thug Says He Had Lil Baby Signed to YSL Records, But Ended Up Introducing Him to Quality Control Music, Due to Legal Issues That Thug Had, at The Time [VIDEO]

Last week, Young Thug released his highly anticipated sophomore album, “Punk.” This project contained 20 tracks, and star-studded appearances from Drake, Travis Scott, J. Cole, Post Malone, Juice WRLD, Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky, and more. It’s expected to debut in the top three, of the Billboard 200 chart this week.

In a new Breakfast Club interview, Thug also discussed his early relationship with Lil Baby. At the time, Thug says he had Baby signed to his YSL record label, but he wasn’t able to put Baby in the best situation. This was due to legal cases that Thug was currently battling. This resulted in Thug introducing Baby to Pierre “P” Thomas, and Quality Control Music.

“I was dealing with so much shit that I’m like, ‘I ain’t bringing him into that, he just got out of prison. I was still kind of young back then, I wasn’t really going crazy with my label. I had him, this n***a was literally signed to me. Had that boy.”

Thug was still able to sign other solid talent to YSL though, such as Gunna and Lil Keed. This past summer, Thug and YSL’s “Slime Language 2,” was the number one album in the US. It featured the hit single, “Ski,” and features from Drake, Meek Mill, Travis Scott, and more.
