Young Thug’s RICO trial gets postponed and will resume on January 2, due to stabbing of his co-defendant in jail

Young Thug’s RICO trial postponed and will resume on January 2

In late November, Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial finally began. This came after a long delay regarding jury selection, as the trial was initially set for January 7. Moreover, Thug has since been pressed in trial, regarding lyrics used in his music, as he and his attorney Brian Steele have even attempted to claim that certain words used are simply positive acronyms. Furthermore, lyrics also were believed to have discussed shooting at rival YFN Lucci’s mother.

Meanwhile, Thug’s trial is now seeing yet another delay. It has been postponed to January 2, as announced in court by Judge Ural Glanville, on Tuesday, according to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff. This is as a result of the Atlanta rapper’s co-defendant Shannon Stillwell being stabbed in jail.

“Let me go ahead and tell you where we are,” Judge Glanville said to the jury. “Remember yesterday we recessed because one of our participants had a medical issues and I was telling you about that? Well, unfortunately, that medical condition still exists. Given the length of time that we will probably address that, it might be just more prudent to recess you. An early recess. Instead of recessing you this Friday as the Court’s plan was originally, I’m gonna recess you for the holidays, today.”
