Young Thug’s “So Much Fun” Album Reaches Top Spot On Billboard 200 Chart And Gives Him His First No. 1 Album

Young Thug released his new “So Much Fun” album on August 16 and it felt as if it was the most anticipated project of his career. It contained 19 tracks with features from Quavo, Future, 21 Savage, J. Cole, Travis Scott, and more. Cole executive produced the project while also appearing on the lead single “The London” which also featured Travis Scott. So Much Fun album definitely lived up to fans of his as its opening numbers are putting him on top of the Billboard 200 chart.

As of August 22, So Much Fun pulled in 131,000 equivalent album units as it’s Thug’s first No.1 album of his career. Nielsen Music added that 5k of the units consisted of pure albums sales while streams accounted for the rest. The album reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 makes it the second biggest streaming week for a hip-hop album in 2019 as well.

At The No. 2 spot, it was Lionel Richie’s live album “Hello From Las Vegas.” This makes it the highest-charting live album on the Billboard 200 since Kenny Chesney’s “Live In No Shoes Nation” in November of 2017. It’s definitely impressive on Thug’s part to hit the top of the charts over a legend such as Richie.
