Yung Joc speaks on leaving Block/Bad Boy South and Next Deal

The biggest act on Bad Boy Records in recent years has been Yung Joc. There had been no interest in any of the rap projects on the label in years until he joined the camp. Not only was Joc carrying the load of Bad Boy, but he was also the face of Block Ent. and Bad Boy South. After four years on the label, Yung Joc decided that he wanted off of the label.

During the summer, it was revealed that Yung Joc not only had issues with Bad Boy Entertainment, but also Block Ent. over unpaid royalties. At his peak popularity with the label, Joc released an album every year. But, in 2008, he created his own label and signed a deal with Jive Records where he allowed Hot Stylz to release an album. The dispute had begun then.

Yung Joc silently fought to get off of the label throughout 2008. After Diddy forced him to stay under the Bad Boy umbrella, Yung Joc made the situation publicly known. He pleaded to Diddy in the media to release him from Bad Boy. It was looking like Yung Joc would be treated similarly to The L.O.X. before Diddy wanted to move Bad Boy from Atlantic Records.
