Yung Miami says she & JT didn’t connect after “Raw” album
Since the new year, Yung Miami and JT have been releasing solo music consistently. Miami has dropped off records such as “50/50″ and “CFWM” featuring Skilla Baby. On JT’s end, she’s also put out buzzing hits, such as “Sideways” and “Okay.”
Meanwhile, Yung Miami is now addressing the split from JT as the City Girls, at the end of 2023. Moreover, this also comes after the two took shots at each other on Twitter/X, a few months ago. In a new interview with Complex, Miami explained how the rollout for their “Raw” album last fall was bad, and that they didn’t connect anymore, as a group.
“I think when the City Girls album [RAW] just dropped, and it didn’t do too well, and we was just trying to do our press run. The whole rollout of the album was just so bad because we was just in two different spaces,” Miami explained. “We older now, and she [JT] was doing her own thing. She on the West Coast, I’m in Miami. I’m doing my own thing. And I felt like naturally, when she doing her own thing, it just worked for her. And when I’m doing my own thing, it worked for me. But when we get together as a group, it just wasn’t connecting. It just wasn’t working no more.”
City Girls’ Raw album initially contained 18 songs, and was led by singles such as “Good Love” featuring Usher and JT’s “No Bars” single. The Miami duo also collaborated with Juicy J, Lil Durk, Muni Long, and Kim Petras.
