A big part of becoming an iconic figure is understanding the importance of giving back to those in need. Jim Jones is an iconic figure who is always finding ways to give back and help others. Recently the Harlem rapper, made an appearance on the New York news station PIX11. During the interview, the news station surprised Jim Jones with the Community Hero Award for his service throughout his hometown.

Jim Jones is a name that resonates with East Coast rap in a legendary way. As a founding member of the rap collective The Diplomats alongside Cam’ron, Jim created an incredible movement. His 2005 single “Fly High,” reached number five on the Billboard charts. The remix to the single is certified platinum, including features from T.I., Diddy, Birdman and Young Dro. In addition to music, Jim Jones love life with longtime girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin made him a huge reality star.

Aside from music Jim is a community advocate for his hometown Harlem and all over New York. Over the years he’s provided schools with supplies and created multiple giveaway events. He’s also provided clothing and food to different women’s shelters. Fellow New York rapper, Ja Rule was also at the same news station, congratulating Jim on his recognition.
