Quavo and Rich The Kid film music video at Hawks game
Quavo was label-mates with Rich The Kid on QC, many years ago. However, business moves led to things changing. As a result, Rich The Kid wound up on Interscope Records. Here, Rich The Kid posted a major hit in 2017, “New Freezer,” with Kendrick Lamar. In addition, Quavo enjoyed a successful career, outside of Migos, as a solo rapper. Now, he’s reunited with Rich The Kid for the first time since 2020. The two attended a recent Atlanta Hawks game and filmed their video courtside.
Quavo initially was the breakout star of Migos. He began releasing solo music and quickly overtook many rising solo Atlanta rappers. However, his popularity ended up being surpassed by Offset. Much of his celebrity came from his high profile marriage to Cardi B. In the years since, there has been some tension. The unfortunate and untimely passing of Takeoff reunited the guys. Sadly, Takeoff said he was preparing to take the spotlight, just before his passing.
Quavo reunited with Rich The Kid and they have new music in store. Both rose the ranks of the Atlanta hip hop scene at the same time. In addition, they signed to QC around the same time. When the label sought new distribution, Rich The Kid was lost in the shuffle. None of this changed his working relationship with Quavo. The two have reunited at a Hawks’ game, of all places, and began filming their music video, courtside.
