Al Horford has done everything Giannis has, in his career, with the exception of Giannis in 2021. In 2007, Al Horford was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks, after winning a NCAA championship. With the Hawks, Horford spent his early years as a role player. Each year, Horford increasingly got better, and the Hawks became perennial playoff contenders. As a result, the Hawks posted the NBA’s top record.
Al Horford became the Hawks’ best player in the 60-22 season, in 2015. Horford led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they were swept. The next year, Giannis quietly began his ascension into superstar mode. Fast forward to 2022 and Al Horford and Giannis have an unspoken beef. Horford continued his run against Giannis. He dunked on him and the Boston crowd appreciated it.
