Bankroll Freddie is the definition of a “hometown hero.” In this current era of hip hop, rappers are emerging from nontraditional locations. Such cities as Toronto have produced a sizeable number of stars. Meanwhile, an increasing number of rappers from small towns are emerging. Enter Bankroll Freddie. Bankroll Freddie is from Helena, Arkansas and grew up in Conway, Arkansas.

Neither Helena, nor Conway, are major cities by any stretch of the mind. Bankroll Freddie spent his more formative years in the city of Conway. Growing up in Conway is where Bankroll Freddie began developing an interest in music. However, Bankroll Freddie did not actually start rapping until he was an adult. Within two years, Bankroll Freddie signed with Quality Control.

Bankroll Freddie is becoming a big deal in the game. Two years ago, Bankroll Freddie put himself on the map with his project, From Trap 2 Rap. This morning, Bankroll Freddie returned with the release of “Pickin Sides,” delivering the music video. Icewear Vezzo, Bankroll Freddie’s label-mate, via Motown, is featured on the song. Freddie also announced From Trap 2 Rap 2, his upcoming project.
