Bobby Portis tried to fight Pascal Siakam but then changed his mind
Hands down, Bobby Portis is one of the most-physical players in the NBA. His role is often overlooked, in how the Milwaukee Bucks won the 2021 NBA Championship. Of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton received most of the attention and acclaim, it was only right. Giannis is the franchise player and his 51 points in Game 6 proved he deserved the Finals MVP Award.
The Milwaukee Bucks were the NBA’s best team, by record, in the 2019 and 2020 seasons. In 2019, they were a bit of a surprise team, winning the league’s best record, after being the seventh seed, just a season prior. The previous year, they pushed the Boston Celtics to a Game 7, in the first round, but then exploded to a 60-22 record, beating the Celtics en route to the Eastern Conference Finals.
In 2020, the NBA season ended up pausing and, when it did, the Bucks and Lakers were the NBA’s best teams. The restart messed with Milwaukee’s chemistry and they wound up being upset by the Miami Heat, in the second round. Last season, the Bucks overcame incredible odds to win the title. The playoffs saw them defeat the Nets and Hawks to get to the Finals.
As defending champions, the Bucks have struggled, this season. However, they have proven they still have it, routing the Golden State Warriors, during their last game. Tonight, they took on the Toronto Raptors, where Bobby Portis and Pascal Siakam got into it. Once the refs got involved, Bobby downplayed the tension.
