When Doc Rivers became the Clippers’ head coach, Brad Stevens became the Celtics’ head coach. While Brad Stevens was expected to oversee the tank, he ended up coaching a contender.
Brad Stevens landed Isaiah Thomas, who morphed into a superstar with the Celtics. In 2015, the Celtics surprisingly made the playoffs. The following year, the Celtics returned to the playoffs, and in 2017 held the East’s best record. While Brad Stevens oversaw the growth of Jayson Tatum into a superstar, he unexpectedly stepped down as Celtics coach to take over the front office, as Danny Ainge abruptly left.
Brad Stevens now sits in the executive’s booth and watches the Celtics’ games. Today, Brad Stevens watched as the Boston Celtics lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. A dominant game from Giannis came at the expense of the Celtics. With eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Brad Stevens left the game, or at least it looked that way.
