Cade Cunningham gets ejected for pointing at the crowd after dunk

As far as young stars go, Cade Cunningham is one of the most-energetic in the game. The first overall pick, Cunningham landed with the Detroit Pistons, a team desperately in need of something. During the early 2000s, the Pistons began building a consistency. This consistency transformed into a perennial playoff team that eventually made six consecutive trips to the Eastern Conference Finals.

In 2008, the Detroit Pistons played the “Big 3” Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. That year, the Pistons tied the Celtics 2-2 in the series. At the time, no one realized this would be the last playoff game the Pistons would win for at least fourteen years. After Game 4, the Pistons have yet to win a playoff game, and have only been to the playoffs twice since 2009.

The Pistons have tried rebuilds, even a huge frontcourt, with Blake Griffin joining the team. Last year, that era ended in time for the Pistons to land the top draft pick. This led to Cade Cunningham, who is providing highlights for a team with nothing else going for it. Tonight, while playing the NBA’s best Phoenix Suns, Cunningham dunked and pointed at the crowd. For that, he was ejected.
