Carmelo Anthony and Gabe Vincent get into heated argument
Tensions are high, for the Los Angeles Lakers. With over half of the season over, the Lakers expected to have one of the NBA’s best records. Instead, the Lakers are on the outside looking in, with the Suns, Warriors, Grizzlies, and Jazz occupying the top four spots. With how it’s looking, the Lakers’ best bet is to simply earn a playoff berth.
Last season, the defending champion Lakers began the season 21-7. The Lakers were firmly in control of the second seed and coming for the first seed. However, injuries derailed the rest of the season, leading to them having to compete in the play-in for their playoff spot. Despite taking a 2-1 lead, the Lakers lost to Chris Paul and Devin Booker’s Suns.
To correct the problems of 2021, the Lakers brought back much of 2020’s core. They also brought in former franchise players, Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook. With Westbrook, they traded Kyle Kuzma for him. Meanwhile, Kuzma is having a career year for the Wizards. Anthony and Westbrook have struggled, as have the Lakers.
Taking on the Miami Heat, clearly it’s no longer 2020, as Jimmy Butler’s squad is blowing the Lakers out. There was a bit of a scuffle, as LeBron James went for a rebound. The situation ended with Carmelo Anthony and Gabe Vincent getting into it. Officials had to get involved, as Carmelo followed Vincent around the court.
