Chris Paul injures his hand after crash into Jae Crowder and Frank Ntilikina

Chris Paul has received a lot of credit for changing the culture of the Phoenix Suns. The Suns were one of the NBA’s worst franchises of the 2010s. In 2010, the Phoenix Suns had one last run in the Steve Nash/Amar’e Stoudemire era. After missing the 2009 playoffs, the Suns returned to the Western Conference Finals, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. It turns out, the Suns would not make the playoffs again until 2021.

Chris Paul, meanwhile, left the New Orleans Pelicans (then Hornets), for the Los Angeles Clippers. A historically bad franchise, Chris Paul teamed with Blake Griffin. Together, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin formed a powerful duo. Lob City became the Clippers’ name, as they ran through six straight regular seasons, winning no less than 53 games. However, the Clippers’ playoff struggles led to Chris Paul leaving. Paul would play for the Rockets and Thunder, before going to the Phoenix Suns.

Chris Paul has only made it past the second round of the playoffs twice in his career. Last night, Chris Paul had the chance to make it past the second round for a third time. Instead of Chris Paul returning to the Western Conference Finals, he got hurt. Towards the end of the game, the Dallas Mavericks had the Phoenix Suns down 20 points. Jae Crowder was guarding Frank Ntilikina and bumped into him. This led to Ntilikina falling into CP3 and him hurting his hand.
