Cordae links with H.E.R. and Lil Durk for Chronicles video
Shedding YBN from his name, Cordae set about making himself one of the hottest rappers in the game. For years, hottest has not been synonymous with the best, as in lyrical. But, Cordae is receiving props for both his lyrical ability, and his catchy music. The last rapper to truly be hailed as having both was Lil Wayne, though not everyone agreed.
Cordae is a student of the game, so he actually featured Lil Wayne on his album. It’s ironic how time has passed, as Wayne is no longer considered one of the most-popular artists in the game. Looking back on it, 2014 was actually the last year Wayne was considered a dominant artist. By 2017, Wayne was an afterthought with the current fans, who propelled Cordae and YBN to fame.
Now, Cordae is gunning for the position once held by Wayne, and currently held by Lil Durk. The two, alongside H.E.R., have come together for Cordae’s single, “Chronicles.” The song can also be found on his newest album. Earlier this evening, Cordae dropped the official music video for the single, “Chronicles,” and he has more coming.
