DeMar DeRozan hits game winner vs Pacers
Recently, DeMar DeRozan discussed his career journey, on “Knuckleheads.” He spent the early portion of his career with the Toronto Raptors, putting them back on the map. Unlike their prior franchise players, DeRozan stayed, and led the franchise to a series of firsts. When DeRozan led the team, the Raptors had their first 50-win seasons, first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, and most regular season wins ever.
DeMar DeRozan was unceremoniously traded for Kawhi Leonard, in 2018. The Raptors found themselves losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers every season. But, with LeBron James joining the Lakers, that offseason, the Raptors became immediate favorites to win the East. With Leonard, they did just that, even winning the title over the Golden State Warriors.
The trade took an emotional toll on DeMar DeRozan. He made the most of his time with the San Antonio Spurs, spending three years there. In free agency, DeRozan joined the Chicago Bulls, and they’re playing their best ball since the Derrick Rose/Jimmy Butler era. Tonight, the Bulls had an early game against the Indiana Pacers. With the game on the line, DeRozan hit the clutch three-pointer.
