For a time, Brooklyn held the best record in the Eastern Conference. Injuries prevented that from holding.

In the East, the Miami Heat took control of the standings from the Bulls, and the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks stepped up. After a slow start, the Philadelphia 76ers also got into the mix.
