There’s a lot to admire when it comes to those West Coast dudes and it didn’t just start with these new guys. A lot of people, in today’s times, know MC Eiht for his verse on good kid, m.A.A.d. city. But, MC Eiht is a legend and the leader of the legendary rap group, Compton’s Most Wanted.
Compton’s Most Wanted consisted of MC Eiht, DJ Mike T, Boom Bam, MC Chill, and also DJ Slip. In 1992, Compton’s Most Wanted released their album, Music to Driveby, which included the single, “Hood Took Me Under.” The song was a big hit when it was released almost exactly twenty-one years ago.
“Hood Took Me Under” ended up getting new life when it was included on the popular video game, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. With Grand Theft Auto V returning to the state of San Andreas later this month, Hip Hop Vibe decided to spotlight Compton’s Most Wanted. Enjoy today’s Wednesday Throwback.
