In the wake of the rumors about Jay-Z purchasing Hot 97, it was only right to reflect on his time in the game. Although he isn’t retired, it’s obvious Jay-Z isn’t interested in having another run like 1996-2003 again. But, the world will forever have that time.
Jay-Z reached the peak of his career in 1998-1999, which is when he did the Hard Knock Life tour. This had him on the road with DMX, Ja Rule, and many other Def Jam label-mates. During this same period, Jay-Z’s resident DJ, DJ Clue, teamed up with Mya.
Already, Mya had the hit single, “Best of Me,” with Jadakiss. But, DJ Clue did a remix of the track and added Jay-Z to it. Time is going by fast and we’re already halfway through this week, so we’re taking it back to Mya’s “Best of Me” remix by DJ Clue and featuring Jay-Z.
