The past few years might not have been as favorable for DMX, but he cemented himself as a legend years before. It’s hard to believe it’s already been fifteen years since DMX first debuted as a lead solo artist. When he came in the game, DMX dropped two albums in the same year and debuted on top, making history.

Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood is the second album DMX dropped in 1998 and the lead single off the album was “Slippin.'” The song had a strong impact on the game and it generated a lot of interest. “Slippin'” became one of the biggest singles late in 2013.

In a lot of these articles, readers may have noticed the mentions of the 40th/39th anniversary of hip hop. This culture and lifestyle has a deep and interesting history that includes a lot of major players and DMX was one of them in the late 1990s. So, for the Wednesday Throwback, we have continued our celebration of hip hop history with X’s “Slippin.'”
