Hip hop has had so many eras to deliver so much good music. Any person from each of these time periods could give a valid argument about why their era was classic. The fans, however, just enjoy the music and the memories that come along with them and 2001 was a good year for hip hop.

In 2001, Fabolous got his mainstream breakthrough when Lil’ Mo featured him on her hit single, “Superwoman.” Later that summer, Fabolous released his own solo debut, “Can’t Deny It,” which became a hit. The late Nate Dogg was featured on the song, which sampled the Tupac classic, “Ambitionz Az A Ridah.”

This summer, for the Wednesday Throwback, we took it back to the 1980s, even the 1970s and more into R&B. But, this week, we wanted to do recent history and feature someone still making moves in the game, today. With that, it took us to Fabolous with his first hit off his Ghetto Fabolous debut album.
