DJ YRS Jerzy’s Wednesday Throwback: Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock – “It Takes Two”

This past weekend ended with some sad news when the world learned DJ EZ Rock, of Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock died. It turned out that he died of complications from diabetes, answering questions of how he died. There are many people mourning, but a part of the grieving process is enjoying the good times.

Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock are best-known for their 1988 single, “It Takes Two,” which was a number one record. Their album, of the same name, was platinum-selling and it put the Harlem duo on the map. A major hit that still gets a lot of acclaim, the song has been remade by Romeo Miller, among others.

In honor of the LIFE of DJ EZ Rock, this week, the Hip Hop Vibe team decided to feature “It Takes Two” as the Wednesday Throwback. Rest in peace to DJ EZ Rock and well wishes go out to his loved ones. Also, the Hip Hop Vibe team wishes nothing but prosperity and peace to Rob Base, as he leads this duo alone now.
