Doc Rivers had more at stake than the players, heading into Game 6, last night. Since Joel Embiid began playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, they have not gotten past the second round of the playoffs. Doc Rivers took over as the Sixers’ coach last season. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons led the Sixers to the best record in the East. When the playoffs started, the Sixers easily dispatched the Washington Wizards. In the second round, the Sixers infamously were upset by the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks won three of the four games played in Philadelphia, which did the Sixers in.

Doc Rivers has had the cloud of last season’s playoffs over his head. Not only was Doc Rivers facing last year’s playoffs, but also the Clippers’ meltdowns. Some even brought up his time with the Orlando Magic. Last night, the Sixers did not disappoint. After James Harden sank a three pointer, the Raptors did not give him landing space. This made Doc irate, as he stormed on the court, and was given a tech.
