Draymond Green is the man who allows the Golden State Warriors to do what they do. While the Warriors are known for their offense, Draymond Green is one of the NBA’s best defenders. In Game 1, the Boston Celtics mounted a strong comeback. After the Warriors were up all game long, the Celtics came back strong to win the game. Actually, Game 1 ended up being a Boston blowout win.
Draymond Green was unusually calm, after losing Game 1. As Green was walking to the locker room, he had a calm look on his face. Malika Andrews described the look on Draymond’s face as him almost learning Boston’s scheme. As a result, the Warriors came into Game 2 with a new attitude. Especially Draymond Green, who came in and set a defensive tone.
Draymond Green checked Jayson Tatum early in the game. If Draymond Green didn’t step up, the Warriors would have been going to Boston down 2-0. Instead, Draymond Green went at the Celtics’ best players. After Draymond went at Jayson Tatum, he went at the Celtics’ X factor, Grant Williams. Early in the game, Draymond set the tone by shoving Williams, and then throwing an elbow.
