Elzhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow honor Black women in Nefertiti video
Elzhi originally rose to fame as a member of Slum Village. In 2004, Elzhi reached his commercial heights, when Slum Village released Detroit Deli (A Taste of Detroit). Slum Village included the song, “Selfish,” featuring Kanye West and John Legend. The “Selfish” single was Slum Village’s highest charting single, to date. For over a decade, Slum Village has been disbanded. Above all, Elzhi went back solo.
Elzhi refocused on his solo career in 2011. A creative, Elzhi teamed up with Georgia Anne Muldrow for a collaborative album. Elzhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow have one of the nicest albums out. However, Elzhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow are artists who rarely receive commercial attention. As a result, much of their work goes overlooked. Together, Elzhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow have come together for Zhigeist, their newest album.
Elzhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow have put together a project that honors our heritage. The reason Elzi and Georgia Anne Muldrow chose Zhigeist as their album title reflects this. Now, Elzhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow have returned with their newest single. On this one, Elzhi and Georgia Anne Muldrow do it all for the queens. With “Nefertiti,” they honored the queen of all queens.
