Giannis collapses after Al Horford dunks on him in Game 4
Giannis and Al Horford were getting into it in Game 4. While Al Horford is the veteran, Giannis has that championship ring that Horford has yet to get. Making matters worse, Giannis won his championship with Al Horford’s former coach. Al Horford actually was not much different than Giannis, early in his career.
Al Horford was drafted by the small market Atlanta Hawks. At the time of Horford’s arrival, the Hawks had not made the playoffs in nine years. Horford first became a key rotation player, before he became the franchise player. Mike Budenholzer came in and Al Horford was healthy in 2015. Together, they led the balanced Hawks to a 60-22 record and they lost in the Conference Finals.
While Giannis and Bud were given time to figure it out and won a title, Al Horford did not get that chance. The Hawks fired Budenholzer and signed Dwight Howard in free agency. This led to Al Horford signing with the Celtics. Last year, Horford returned to the Celtics, where Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown run the show. But Al Horford owed Giannis this dunk and Giannis’ fall, after taunting him.
