Giannis Antetokounmpo commits offensive foul after DeRozan clutch shot
Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the NBA’s ultimate success stories. When Giannis was playing in Greece, NBA scouts believed he had potential. Because of this, the Milwaukee Bucks took a chance on Giannis. However, when Giannis was drafted, nobody saw him as a franchise altering player. At the time, the Bucks were a fringe playoff team.
During Giannis’ first year, he had trouble transitioning. Meanwhile, Giannis didn’t get many minutes, as the Bucks fell to the NBA’s worst record. However, Giannis became a key member of the Bucks’ 2015 playoff team. Giannis became the Bucks’ franchise player when they returned in 2017. From 2017 through 2020, Giannis got better each season. In 2019 and 2020, Giannis won consecutive MVPs.
Giannis accomplished a lot, especially during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. However, Giannis ran into Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors in 2019. The following year, Giannis ran into Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. Both times, Giannis lost to the team who went to the Finals. So in 2021, Giannis led the Bucks to an upset win, ending both the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns.
Giannis is now dealing with being the defending champion. Taking on the Bulls, in the first round, the Bucks were expected to dominate. In Game 2, DeMar DeRozan had other plans. Trying to save the game, Giannis tried to score, but ended up committing an offensive foul. That is how Game 2 ended for Giannis and the Bucks.
