Giannis game winning block on Joel Embiid after James Harden misses
For the past few years, beef has been brewing between Giannis and James Harden. Initially, things were one sided, as Giannis was a role player. James Harden, meanwhile, was one of the NBA’s biggest stars. As he struggled to get the Rockets over the hump, Giannis took over as the Bucks’ leader. By 2019, Giannis became the league’s MVP, one year after Harden. From then on, Giannis’ Bucks have been title contenders.
As of 2022, Giannis has led his team to the NBA’s best record twice, won two MVPs, and a Finals MVP. On top of that, Giannis has an NBA championship, which James Harden doesn’t. When it comes to individual accomplishments, Giannis now dwarfs what Harden has. While Giannis has spent his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, James Harden has become a journeyman. After leaving the Rockets, Harden spent a lone year with the Nets, and is now with the Sixers.
Last night, the Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers were playing for the tiebreaker. Both teams are competing for the second seed in the East. At the end of the game, James Harden had the game winning shot, which he missed. Moments later, Giannis won the game for the Bucks, blocking Joel Embiid. If the Bucks win the second seed, they will hold home court against the Sixers in the second round. Giannis won this round of the beef with James Harden.
