In his career, Giannis Antetokounmpo has lived up to his nickname, “Greek Freak.” Giannis is widely regarded as one of the NBA’s best players, now. However, that wasn’t always the case. When Giannis’ career began, the Bucks had the NBA’s worst record. During those days, Giannis wasn’t viewed as a franchise player or an MVP. Now, Giannis is considered one of the NBA’s best players of all time.
As the Bucks fell apart, Giannis Antetokounmpo emerged. In 2017, Giannis won Most Improved Player and got the Bucks back into the playoffs. Two years later, Giannis won MVP, as the Bucks had the NBA’s best record. Giannis would accomplish both feats again, the following year. Both years saw the Bucks fall short of the title. Last season, Giannis led them to that, against the Phoenix Suns.
Attempting to repeat as champions, the Bucks got off to a slow start. They are currently battling with the Heat, Bulls, Sixers, and Cavs for the East’s top spot, with the Celtics also emerging. Tonight, they played the Sixers, who now have James Harden. The Bucks took a home loss, but Giannis had another viral moment, when he lifted Furkan Korkmaz off the ground, while battling for the loose ball.
