Ever since the Washington Wizards drafted John Wall and Bradley Beal, they were expected to become contenders. Two seasons ago, the Wizards got off to a 22-8 start and it looked like they were turning that corner. They would ultimately slow down and finish 46-36.

Last season, the Washington Wizards dealt with injuries and missed the playoffs by one game. Heading into this season, the Wizards were picked to finally get things on track. Instead, they stumbled and got out to a 2-8 start.

But, as if the preseason was any indicator, the Wizards have no love lost toward the New York Knicks. During the preseason, the Knicks put on a show against the Wizards and they almost fought. At 2-8, the Wizards needed a big bounceback game and they had it against the Knicks, winning 119-112.

While this was a good win, can the Wizards keep it up and rise to the top of the East, where almost every team is playing well, including their two divisional rivals?
