In terms of hip hop royalty, it does not get much bigger than Pete Rock and Camp Lo and these people came together to make this mixtape. The project dropped this summer, 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II. At a time when hip hop is returning to that golden era sound, this mixtape came right on time.
Pete Rock and Camp Lo represent the old school, but they included some of the newer hip hop artists on this mixtape. Among the people who appeared on 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II were Mac Miller, Uncle Murda, and Ab-Soul. They were good at blending the old school with the new school.
80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II shows how diverse the rap game is right now, as the newer artists make music inspired by the old school. In a year known for its comebacks, this mixtape also helped reintroduce Camp Lo to the game. Of course, they and Pete Rock are always in the mix.
