The busiest week of the year, Thanksgiving week, was full of much hip hop action. A break was taken, but new music continued to drop. Before the frenzy fully set in, however, Big Boi had the opportunity to release his Vicious Lies album. With the release of the album, Big Boi released the “Mama Told Me” video.
While not the lead single from the album, “Mama Told Me,” with Kelly Rowland, brought the most attention to the new release. Kelly Rowland has been on the comeback trail, starting in 2011. Now, Big Boi delivered his biggest hit of the year alongside the former Destiny’s Child singer.
Several music videos dropped this week, including Game’s “Celebration (remix),” which brought about the return of Bone Thugz-N-Harmony. There was also the high-profile MTV premiere of Lil Wayne’s “No Worries.” But, the pick of the week had to go to Big Boi and Kelly Rowland’s “Mama Told Me.”
