Not too long ago, Donald Trump was the go-to businessman for rappers to reference. In 2008, Trump surprised his urban fanbase when he not only didn’t support Obama for president, but campaigned against him. He was more vocal in 2012, before running, himself, in 2016.
Donald Trump has made all kinds of outrageous comments and most predicted him to be a spoiler candidate. Instead, Trump is the frontrunner and his comments have many in the urban world shocked and appalled. Enter YG and Nipsey Hussle to get their point across.
In response to Donald Trump and his hateful messages, YG and Nipsey Hussle launched “FDT.” Take away the initials and read through the lines, it’s not hard to tell what they mean. Since their video shoot was shut down and all of the controversy surrounding it, it made sense for “FDT” to be the Video of the Week for this week.
