Hip Hop Vibe’s Comeback of the Year: Rick Ross

It was very tempting to give Rick Ross his second-ever Artist of the Year on Hip Hop Vibe for 2014. But, his gigantic efforts were more of a comeback than full domination. Still, Rick Ross had an impressive year that deserves to be noted.
The Miami emcee reached the peak of his career in 2011-2012, ending with God Forgives, I Don’t being released. While he made big plans for 2013, he ended with the MMG compilation and a couple of singles. Early in 2014, Rick Ross more than made up for this.
Rick Ross ended his longstanding beef with Jeezy, released Mastermind, finally released Omarion’s MMG debut, and then dropped Hood Billionaire, his second album of the year. No stone was unturned by Rick Ross in 2014, more than making up for a disappointing 2013. There is never a time when Rick Ross isn’t at the forefront of the game, but he made major improvements in the year of 2014.
