Inspired By Greatness (Q The Question’s Top Labels): Bad Boy Records

Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

For those who remember correctly, Trel Mack dropped “Inspired By Greatness (Intro)” featuring yours truly, Q The Question on Hip Hop Vibe. On the Q The Question intro, there were shout outs to labels from the past. It was no joke when they were mentioned, those labels helped inspire the SKE movement.

Since Hip Hop Vibe premiered the “Inspired By Greatness” music video, it was only right to share to the world what greatness inspired SKE Records. Bad Boy Records was the first label mentioned and it was founded by Diddy, then known as Puff Daddy, back in 1993 and The Notorious B.I.G. and Craig Mack were the original artists.

Even through the ups and downs, Bad Boy Records is back on top. But, it was the 1990s when the SKE team was growing up that inspired this. So, with that, some of the tracks that sparked our interest in hip hop are the ones that will be included to share with the world. Take some time and get to know SKE Records.

See the greatness that inspired us below:

Mase – “Feel So Good”

This song still goes in, don’t care what anybody has to say. From this moment on, SKE had to become a reality in one way or another.

The L.O.X. ft. Lil’ Kim and DMX – “Money, Power, Respect”

Bad Boy Records really didn’t want to touch the gritty side of the game, but when they did it was classic tracks like “Money, Power, Respect.” Growing up watching these guys, it was an honor to interview Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch.

P. Diddy – “Bad Boy For Life”

After all the drama, Puffy came back stronger than ever with a new roster of talent and a new name and he made it clear he wasn’t going anywhere. “Bad Boy For Life” dropped with cameos from Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neal, and Ben Stiller.

P. Diddy ft. Pharrell – “D.I.D.D.Y.”

The early 2000s weren’t complete without Pharrell doing a record and Bad Boy Records wasn’t immune. This is another Q The Question Bad Boy favorite.

This is a portion of the greatness that inspired what the world is seeing from SKE Records.
