Isaiah Thomas made strong debut for Charlotte Hornets
Five years ago, Isaiah Thomas was the story of the NBA. Even people who didn’t like him had to root for him. The last draft pick, and a journeyman, Isaiah Thomas was traded to the Boston Celtics midseason, in 2015. Immediately, he turned the team around, and led them to the playoffs. Amazing, Isaiah Thomas was only a bench player for the Celtics. That first year laid the groundwork for the following two seasons.
Isaiah Thomas assumed a starting position, as the Celtics won 48 games. Another playoff appearance was another first round loss. But when 2017 came, Isaiah Thomas propelled himself into the MVP discussion, leading the Celtics to 53 wins. At the start of the playoffs, Isaiah Thomas dealt with the unexpected death of his sister, in a car crash. Still, he led the Celtics to the Conference Finals, but he injured his hip.
The hip injury ended Isaiah Thomas’ career as he once knew it. He was traded and missed half of the season, soon finding himself out of the NBA. Isaiah Thomas is a journeyman, who floats between the NBA and the G-League. After putting up huge numbers for the Greensboro Swarm, IT joined the Hornets, who are in desperate need of help. Last night, Thomas provided that, giving the Hornets a timely win over the Cavaliers, in Cleveland.
