Isaiah Thomas scores 12 straight points in the fourth quarter to close out the Pelicans | Hornets at Pelicans [VIDEO]

Isaiah Thomas scores 12 straight points in fourth quarter to beat Pelicans

The history between the Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans is just as complicated as Isaiah Thomas’ career. Originally, the New Orleans Pelicans were the Charlotte Hornets, until the 2002 relocation. With Charlotte awarded the expansion Bobcats, they have struggled to put good teams on the court. New Orleans, meanwhile, inherited a decent Hornets squad, and they have always succeeded in the draft.

In 2005, New Orleans drafted Chris Paul, and his teams dominated Charlotte. When his era ended, New Orleans controversially won the first draft pick over Charlotte. This resulted in Anthony Davis and his teams dominated Charlotte. Most recently, New Orleans drafted Zion Williamson, but injuries have limited his time on the court. Finally, Charlotte got their draft picks right in Miles Bridges and LaMelo Ball. They have done well, this season, but struggled as of late. The Charlotte Hornets’ best pickup, lately, has been Isaiah Thomas.

Last night, Charlotte played in New Orleans, a place where they have only won four times. Charlotte took their fifth win last night and only their eleventh time ever beating New Orleans. Behind twelve straight points from Isaiah Thomas, the Hornets got their first ever double digit win in New Orleans. In the end, Charlotte won the game 142-120.
