J. Cole apologizes for dissing Kendrick Lamar on “7 Minute Drill”

Last week, J. Cole released his surprise Might Delete Later” mixtape, which is already receiving praises as one of the best projects of 2024. Twelve new songs were placed on the project. This is including collaborations with Gucci Mane, Ari Lennox, Cam’ron, Bas, Central Cee, and many more. In addition, Cole responded to Kendrick Lamar dissing him, on “7 Minute Drill.” That song has gotten a lot of attention and mixed reviews.

However, J. Cole is already backtracking on dissing Kendrick Lamar. On Sunday night, he closed out his annual Dreamville Festival in Raleigh, NC. There, he explained how he hasn’t been sleeping well over the last few days. Cole says this is due to him dissing Kendrick. As a result, Cole asked fans if they think that Kendrick is one of the greatest to ever pick up a mic. Most of the crowd agreed with J. Cole on this comment. After that, he delivered his apology to Kendrick.

At one point, J. Cole and Kendrick had a joint project in the works. However, the project never came. Now, there’s tension. This comes after Kendrick Lamar initially dissed J. Cole and Drake, while being featured on Future and Metro Boomin‘s current Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping Like That” record. That appeared on Future and Metro’s “We Don’t Trust You” album, which also became the number one album in the US.
