J.I.D. ft. 21 Savage and Baby Tate – “Surround Sound” [VIDEO]

When it comes to lyricism, hip hop critics have slept on the South. While Atlanta has dominated hip hop for twenty years, the rappers in the A aren’t given their proper respect. All of this is changing, with the legends in Atlanta being given their props, nowadays, for their lyrical ability. J.I.D. is from Atlanta and he got his props, from the very beginning.

Signed to Dreamville Records, J.I.D. joined a collective that consists of nothing but lyrical monsters. Led by J. Cole, Dreamville has dominated the game since 2016. In 2018, J. Cole saw a revival, of sorts, with his own career. Every time he drops an album, J. Cole goes platinum, something that is almost unheard of, during this day and age, as he does it with no features.

J. Cole set the stage, and the tone, for the rest of the Dreamville roster. J.I.D. has some big things coming up, as he will be performing at Coachella, later this year. Aside from that, he’s a Grammy-nominated rapper. But, J.I.D. recently linked with his fellow Atlanta stars for his newest single. The record is called “Surround Sound,” featuring 21 Savage and Baby Tate. He has the video out now.
