Ja Morant knocked down by D’Angelo Russell and Patrick Beverley

Ja Morant is only playing his second ever playoff appearance. However, the Grizzlies have jumped from being a play-in team to the second seed. Ja Morant is one of the leading MVP candidates, as he led the Grizzlies to the NBA’s second best record. Only the Phoenix Suns have a better record than the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ja Morant has come a long way in a short period of time. Before Ja Morant entered the NBA Draft, he had a lot of hype surrounding him. Morant joined the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019 and immediately put the team back on the map. Two years prior, the Grizzlies tore their team apart, officially ending the “Grit N Grind” era. Ja Morant has brought an energetic, electric, style to the Grizzlies.

Ja Morant played well throughout the regular season. However, Ja Morant sustained an injury that kept him out during the last part of the season. Morant’s Grizzlies still tied a franchise record for wins, posting a 56-26 record. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Los Angeles Clippers to make the playoffs. Ja Morant found himself on the ground, encountering D’Angelo Russell on offense, and Patrick Beverley on defense.
