James Harden roasted for being picked last for the All-Star Game
Yesterday, LeBron James and Kevin Durant were on TNT for a special edition of “Inside The NBA.” The two were on with Shaq, Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, and Kenny “The Jet” Smith. LeBron and KD were on to pick their rosters for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game.
The irony of it all was that they were on at the end of the trade deadline. Moments before LeBron James and Kevin Durant got on, James Harden was traded to the Sixers. Since 2021, Harden was playing with Kevin Durant, for the Brooklyn Nets.
Despite Kevin Durant being an All-Star Game team captain, the Nets are struggling. In the midst of a nine game losing streak, Harden was traded to the Sixers for Ben Simmons. While pundits say the trade is best for all parties involved, Kevin Durant clearly didn’t see it that way. After he and LeBron picked their starters, it was time to pick the reserves. With James Harden still on the board, Shaq and Charles Barkley had jokes. KD, meanwhile, chose two first time All-Stars in Dejounte Murray and LaMelo Ball.
Everybody was thinking it and Charles Barkley was saying it without saying it. In the end, Kevin Durant chose LaMelo Ball to avoid choosing James Harden. After all, Harden was just traded from his team only a few minutes beforehand. LeBron James would pick James Harden by default and he was hiding his laughter the entire time. On Twitter, fans have roasted James Harden for getting picked last for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game.
